If you notice a deterioration in your health or someone in your household, call your GP in normal hours, 111 out of hours, or in any emergency dial 999.

Your community pharmacy and your GP are open, please contact them for advice or with concerns.

If you are concerned about a potential sign or symptom of cancer contact your GP practice to get checked.

If you have a regular appointment for a chronic condition such as asthma or diabetes you should contact your GP and they will advise you. If your hospital appointment has not be cancelled you should still attend.

COVID-19 patients and those displaying symptoms are treated separately.

Repeat Prescriptions

We cannot accept medication requests over the telephone. Please return the tear off slip on your prescription, ticking the medication you need to order. This can be returned by post or put in the black box on the railing at the door of the surgery.

Alternatively you may also order by emailing: nhsh.gp55696-admin@nhs.scot . Please remember to include your full name and either address or date of birth so that we can correctly identify you and ensure there are no delays.  Please be aware that normal email is not encrypted and so may not be totally secure. If you have an issue with this please re-order in the usual way.

Please do not telephone for prescriptions. We cannot accept telephone calls for medication requests.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip as 'Please see GP to order more'. Please heed these notifications as this will reduce the time taken to obtain your medications.

Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Please allow two full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.

Holiday Medications

Protocol for medicine requests when travelling abroad.

A 3 month max. supply can be prescribed on NHS prescription for most drugs. Exception is controlled and other drugs which are currently issued by us on a one month supply only, so can only be supplied for one month if travelling. These are for tramadol, morphine, oxycodone, gabapentin, pregabalin, buprenorphine, fentanyl and any other controlled drug that are not listed here.

Contraception can be supplied for 6 months.

Patients carrying multiple drugs can have a letter listing their drugs prescribed but there will be a charge for this. Please note that an up to date list of your drugs is on your repeat prescription list and you may chose to carry this instead.

Different countries have laws about the carrying of drugs in their country. It is up to individual travellers to contact the embassy for advice on this.
